The ORB XF has been designed to bring hands on lighting control to the powerful ORB platform. Taking the key operating philosophies of the successful ORB, ORB XF adds fader control for intensity channels and live submaster playback, making it ideal for control of live events. Combining of theatrical syntax and an interactive hardware platform, ORB XF provides intuitive control of both generic dimmers and moving lights.
In addition to the known ORB platform, ORB XF features 60 multipurpose faders, which can be utilised as either channel controls (pageable across your entire patch), submasters (pageable across 20 pages), or playbacks (the bottom 20 faders only). A dual colour LED flash button under the fader indicates the current function of each fader.
Operating on the ZerOS software platform, ORB XF provides intuitive interfaces for operators. ORB XF lets you make dynamic ‘on the fly’ adjustments to cues, supports advanced tracking functionality and enables creation of powerful effects. For theatrical playback, there are 1000 cue stacks of 1000 cues (addressable through the 2 playback masters).
A familiar programming interface gives ORB XF users the flexibility of customising displays and default settings, truly making the desk their own. Show files can be cross-loaded between all ZerOS consoles and imported from the original Frog range and ASCII show files. Fixture swapout to any of the internal fixture library of 2000 fixtures make the desk ideal for touring shows, whilst external touchscreen support and an ergonomic design mean the console will be equally at home in a venue for every day use.
Industry standard Ethernet protocols and 5 pin XLR connectors gives flexibility in DMX output options, whilst Ethernet support for visualisers and mobile device applications (Windows Mobile & iPhone) provide interconnectivity options to suit your system. By adding a suitable Wireless Access Point and a mobile device, the desk can support a wireless remote control for channel and syntax control. A free offline editor (Phantom ZerOS) is also available from the Zero 88 website.
